Ziricote has a medium to dark brown color, sometimes with either a green or purple hue. The sapwood is a pale yellowish color. The grain is straight to slightly interlocked and it has a medium to fine texture. The wood gives off a good natural lustre. The end grain is diffuse-porous. Ziricote is rated as durable in regards to decay. It is fairly easy to work with and turns and finishes well.
