Algarrobo Blanco has a heartwood with a yellowish brown to medium brown color, and a sapwood, which tends to be narrow, that is pale yellow. Heartwood tends to darken with age. It has a medium to coarse texture and a slight natural lustre. The grain can be either straight or wavy. Algarrobo is rated excellent for outdoor use. Generally it is easy to work with and glues, turns, and finishes well.
