The heartwood of Araracanga ranges in color from a golden yellow to reddish brown while the sapwood is yellow. The wood darkens with age. Araracanga has a medium texture with a straight grain. The end grain is diffuse-porous. The wood is moderately to very durable in regards to decay. Araracanga is easy to work with but does have an above average blunting effect. It glues, turns, and finishes well.
