Nargusta has a heartwood that varies from light to medium brown and sometimes with a golden or olive cast. The sapwood is a yellow color. The grain is usually interlocked but sometimes it is straight and it has a fine uniform texture. The wood gives off a good natural lustre. Nargusta is rated as very durable to moderately durable in regards to decay. The wood is difficult to work with and glues and finishes well.
