Freijo has a heartwood that ranges from a light yellowish to medium brown color. The grain is straight to shallowly interlocked and it has a fine to coarse texture. The wood gives off a good natural lustre. The end grain is diffuse-porous. The darker boards are more durable to decay than the lighter boards. Freijo is easy to work with and glues, turns, and finishes well.
