Iroko has a heartwood that is usually yellow to golden or medium brown color, which will darken with age. The grain is interlocked and it has a medium to coarse texture. The end grain is diffuse-porous. Iroko is rated as very durable in regards to decay. It is easy to work with even though it has a blunting effect on cutters. It glues and finishes well.
