Partridgewood has a heartwood with a golden yellow to a darker reddish brown color. The sapwood is a grayish yellow color. The grain is straight to slightly interlocked and it has a very coarse texture. The end grain is diffuse-porous. Partridgewood is rated as durable to very durable in regards to decay. It is easy to work with and glues, turns, and finishes well.
