Pink Ivory ranges from a pale brownish pink to a bright neon pink, to a deep red color. The sapwood is a yellow to light brown color. It is commonly seen with a curly or fiddleback grain pattern and it has a fine texture with a tight uniform grain. The end grain is diffuse-porous. Pink Ivory is rated as durable to very durable in regards to decay. The wood is difficult to work with in board form and it has a pronounced blunting effect. It is more commonly used in carving or turning applications. The wood finishes well.
