Prosopis Juliflora has a heartwood with a yellowish brown to dark brown color which will darken with ages the sapwood is narrow and is a pale yellow color. The grain is straight or wavy and it has a medium to coarse texture. The wood gives off a slight natural lustre. The end grain is diffuse-porous. The wood is rated as durable to very durable in regards to decay. It is easy to work with, although the irregular grain and knots can make it challenging at times. The wood glues, turns, and finishes well.
