Abura carries a uniform yellow to pinkish-brown color, with the sapwood and heartwood being indistinct from each other. The wood has a fine texture with a straight or slightly interlocked grain. Abura has poor resistance to decay or insect attacks, but carries a good acid resistance. It takes glue and finishes well, but causes a slight blunting effect on the tools.
