Garapa is a golden to yellowish brown coloured wood which will darken with age. The grain is usually straight, but can be interlocked and it has a uniform medium texture. The wood gives off a moderate natural lustre. The end grain is diffuse-porous. Garapa is rated as durable in regards to decay. It is easy to work with and glues, and finishes well.
