Macadamia has a heartwood that ranges from pale pink to a darker reddish brown and it exhibits a lacewood like effect when quarters awns the color will darken with age. The wood has a fairly coarse texture and it has an end grain which is diffuse-porous. Macadamia is difficult to work with and difficult to dry. It glues, turns and finishes well.
